Born: 10.06.1915 in Rosdorf

KIA: 28.12.1944 near Genes (Belgium)

  • joined the 3rd Lehrtrupp of Kraftfahrlehrkommando II Ohrdruf in November 1934,

  • transferred with the 3rd Lehrtrupp to Panzerregiment 1 in October 1935,

  • pursued the career of an Unteroffizier,

  • served with the 3rd Company as an Unteroffizier, Feldwebel and Oberfeldwebel until Spring of1942,

  • transferred to the newly formed Panzerabteilung 116,

  • was promoted to officer rank in 1943,

  • Severely wounded on 26.12.1944 during the Battle at the Bulge (bomb hit at the command post) at Genes (Belgium), died two days later, last rank: Leutnant

Awards:

German Cross in Gold (20.08.1943), EKI (1941), EKII (1940), Black Wound Badge (1940), Panzer Assault Badge in Silver (1940), Eastern Front Medal (1942)
