• served as a Feldwebel with the Staff of the II. Abteilung of Panzerregiment 1 in the Polish Campaign,

• started Feuerwerker training (ordnance branche) in February 1940,

• served in 1941/42 at Heeresfeuerwerkerschule I (Berlin),

• transferred to the staff of the 10. Luftwaffen-Felddivision in February 1943,

• 01.05.1944 promotion to Leutnant (W),

• served at the end of the war with the 549. Volksgrenadierdivision,

• British captivity in 1945,

• settled after the war in Wersen-Büren (West Germany), last trace 1975
