joined 8th Lehrtrupp of Kraftfahrlehrkommando II Ohrdruf as a recruit on 31.10.1934,
transferred along with his Lehrtrupp to Panzerregiment 1 in October 1935,
pursued the career of an Unteroffizier,
served as Unteroffizier with 8th Company of Panzerregiment 1 until 1938,
transferred to the newly formed Panzerregiment 35 (regimental staff) in November 1935,
transferref to the 4th Company of Panzerregiment 36 on 01.06.1939, experienced the Polish Campaign,
switched to an officer career, promoted to Leutnant on 01.04.1940,
served as orderly officer of Panzerabteilung 101 from 10.05.1940 to 10.12.1941,
transferred along with his Abteilung to Panzerregiment 24 in December 1941,
was withdrawn from front-line service in August 1942 and served on the staff of the Wehrmacht Commander in the Netherlands,
transferred to Panzerabteilung 2111 in November 1944, which became part of Panzerregiment 9 shortly thereafter,
was killed during an attack near Steinau in Silesia on 30.01.1945, last rank Hauptmann
