joined the 7th Company of Panzerregiment 1 as a recruit in November 1938,
experienced the Polish and French campaigns with the 7th Company,
transferred to the 3rd Company of Panzerabteilung A in July 1940, which became the 3rd Company of Panzerregiment 18 shortly thereafter,
promoted to Unteroffizier on 01.07.1941,
transferred along with his company to the newly formed Panzerabteilung 160 in June 1942,
transferred to hospital on 25.10.1942,
served with Panzerersatzabteilung 18 from 08.02.1943 until 26.10.1943,
pursued an officer career, promoted to Leutnant on 01.10.1943,
served with Panzertruppen-Ersatz- und Ausbildungsabteilung Feldherrnhalle in March 1944,
KIA on 04.07.1944 near Minsk.
