  • joined the 3rd Company of Panzerregiment 1 as a conscript in October 1936,

  • transferred along with his company to the newly formed Panzerregiment 11 (1st Company) in October 1937,

  • left the army after his two years of service in October 1938,

  • was reactivated in 1939 and served in the ranks of the 1. Panzerdivision during WWII, last rank: Stabsgefreiter

  • Wilhelm Hasselbach survived WWII and settled after 1945 in his hometown Biebertal in West Germany
