Personnel Panzerregiment 1

While working on the book, we reviewed hundreds of military and civilian biographies. We encountered many names and faces in photos, albums or in personal accounts. There wasn't room to include everyone in the book. Therefore, we will introduce people to you, who are not mentioned in the book, in greater detail on this page.

Dittmar, Karl

Born: 08.06.1916 in Erfurt Died: 01.05.2012 joined Panzerregiment 1 in November1938, transferred to the regimental staff, served with the regimental staff until he was wounded in September 1941, returned to Panzerregiment 1 and served with the 6th Company, changed to an officer career, served with Führer-Panzerregiment 1 at the end of WWII, last rank: Oberfähnrich, became a US-POW in May 1945, returned to his hometown and organized (illegal) meetings of former Panzerregiment

Dreßler, Herbert

Born: 22..01.1908 in Cossebaude Died: 01.09.1959 in Erfurt joined Panzerregiment 1 after 1935, served as Feldwebel with the staff of I. Abteilung in 1937/38, left Panzerregiment 1 before the outbreak of WWII, is listed as Stabsfeldwebel in Panzerjäger-Stug-Abteilung 1352 in September 1944, Herbert Dreßler survived WWII and settled after 1945 in Erfurt.
