transferred along with his company to Kraftfahrlehrkommando II Ohrdruf in August 1934, serving with 5th Lehrtrupp,
trasferred to the regimental staff of Kraftfahrlehrkommando II Ohrdruf in June 1935,
transferred to regimental staff of Panzerregiment 1 in October 1935,
pursued the career of an Unteroffizier,
transferred to the staff of I. Abteilung Panzerregiment 11 in October 1937 and to the staff of II. Abteilung of Panzerregiment 36 one year later,
transferred as a Feldwebel to the staff of 5. Panzerbrigade in April 1940,
transferred to the newly formed Panzerregiment 21 in October 1940, experienced the Russian Campaign,
switched to an officer career, promoted to Leutnant on 01.04.1943,
transferred to Panzerregiment 25 in October 1943, serving as platoon leader,
severly wounded in September 1944, transferred to hospital,
Rudolf Barkow survived WWII and settled after 1945 in Mannheim.
