Born: 23.06.1912 in Klotzsche

  • joined Reiterregiment 12 as a volunteer on 01.10.1930,

  • pursued an NCO career and was promoted to Unteroffizier,

  • transferred to the 2nd Company of Panzerregiment 1 in October 1935,

  • transferred to Panzerregiment 11 in October 1937,

  • served as Feldwebel with the 3rd Company of Panzerregiment 11 during the French Campaign,

  • remained with Panzerregiment 11 until 1944,

  • was serving with a Panzerjäger unit at the end of WWII, last rank: Stabsfeldwebel,

  • Kurt Bemmann survived the war and settled in Paderborn, West Germany, after 1945.

EKII, War Merit Cross 2nd Class with Swords (1940), Panzer Assault Badge, Black Wound Badge, Eastern Front Medal
