Born: 18.12.1912 in Bernburg
KIA: 21.12.1943 in the Soviet Union
joined the Reichswehr on 01.04.1933,
pursued an NCO career and was promoted to Unteroffizier,
served as a Feldwebel with the 2nd Company of Panzerregiment 1 from at least 1938,
commander of a Panzerkampfwagen III during the first days of the Polish Campaign,
was severely wounded on 03.09.1939 at Rozprza (compare pages 275 - 282 in the book),
transferred to hospital and after his recovery to Panzerersatzabteilung 1,
transferred in August 1940 to the 1st Company of Panzerabteilung A, which became the 1st Company of Panzerregiment 18 shortly thereafter,
returned to the 2nd Company of Panzerregiment 1 in December 1940,
is listed in the 5th Company of Panzerersatzabteilung 1 in the winter of 1941/42,
KIA on 21.12.1943 while serving as a platoon leader in the 4th Company of Panzerregiment 1 (heart shot), last rank: Oberfeldwebel
