  • joined Panzerregiment 1 after 1935,

  • served during the Polish and French Campaigns with the regimental staff of Panzerregiment 1,

  • continued to serve with the regimental staff after 1940,

  • Josef Reichelt survived WWII and settled after 1945 in Wernigerode (East Germany)
