Born: 16.10.1916 in Sömmerda
joined the 4. Kraftfahr-Abteilung in April 1934,
transferred to the 8th Lehrtrupp of Kraftfahrlehrkommando II Ohrdruf in July 1934,
transferred to the 8th Company of Panzerregiment 1 in October 1935,
pursued the career of an Unteroffizier,
served during the Polish Campaign as Unteroffizier and driver of the commander´s panzer (800) with the 8th Company,
served with the 8th Company also in the Western Campaign,
transferred to Panzerersatzabteilung 1 in June 1941,
returned to the 8th Company of Panzerregiment 1 in January 1942, serving as Schirrmeister,
severely wounded in Autumn of 1943, transferred to Panzerersatzabteilung 1 in November,
changed into an officer career, promoted to Leutnant on 01.08.1944,
remained in service with Panzerregiment 1 (1st Company) until February 1945,
experienced the end of the war with Panzerjäger-Abteilung 1553,
settled after 1945 in West Germany, residence in 1988: Hannover
