Born: 01.12.1914 in Elberfeld

 
  • joined 2nd Company of Panzerregiment 1 as a recruit in November 1935,

  • became a NCO candidate in 1936,

  • transferred to the 3rd Company of Panzerregiment 11 in October 1937,

  • served with Panzerregiment 11 in Poland, France and the Soviet Union,

  • transferred in March 1942 to the Armored School in Krampnitz,

  • became in 1944 an Oberschirrmeister in Panzeraufklärungsabteilung 3,

  • 1945 US-captivity,

  • settled after 1945 in Frankenhausen (GDR),

  • was sentence to 4 years of prison by the communist rulers (politically),

  • moved in 1957 to West Germany (Wuppertal),

  • worked as a driving instructor and was engaged in the veteran association of Panzerregiment 11 (chair man in Wuppertal)

EKII (1939), War Merit Cross 2nd Class with Swords (1945), Black Wound Badge (1941), Panzer Assault Badge in Silver (1941), Eastern Front Medal (1942)
