  • pursued a career as an Unteroffizier,

  • transferred to the staff of II. Abteilung Kraftfahrlehrkommando II Ohrdruf in summer 1934,

  • transferred as a Feldwebel to 6th Company of Panzerregiment 1 in October 1935,

  • transferred in October 1937 to the newly formed Panzerregiment 11 (2nd Company),

  • served with the 2nd Company of Panzerregiment 11 during the Polish and France Campaigns,

  • transferred to Panzerersatzabteilung 11 in Paderborn,

  • served with workshop platoon of Panzerabteilung (Fkl) 302 in 1942,

  • transferred to workshop platoon of Panzerabteilung (Fkl) 301 in January 1943,

  • transferred to Panzerersatzabteilung 500 at the end of 1943,

  • transferred to the 2nd Company of schwere Panzerabteilung 510 in 1944,

  • KIA on 01.11.1944 serving as Stabsfeldwebel with the supply company of schwere Panzerabteilung 510 (Tiger).
